Our Story

The birth of Forest City Microgreens (Circa June, 2020) by Cristina and Jaime Ramirez (who have decided to come out of retirement) came as an inspiration from their grandchildren and their interest in seeing them growing up eating organic, locally grown produce that provided ultimate nutrition, along with being fun to eat. Originating from Colombia, they have lived in Canada for over 30 years, and were accustomed to buying their food from farmer’s markets with products that were not treated or modified and full of nourishment. With the help of their son Santiago, they have a passion for bringing back greens to the young and old that are easy to blend with your typical salads, smoothies, or on your favorite entrees.

“They put all their love into every tray of microgreens that they grow, as they hope to make a small impact in the lives of children and their families in London and the surrounding area.”

As an Artisan food production company, we only use organic seeds, selected soil, water and artificial lighting that is required for indoor commercial setups for growing them to reach their true leaf stage or just before the time of harvest in our vertical growing system. From the harvest tray to the packing shell and distribution, we take care of every detail.
